Hi

Got a very big problem. running up the m5 on friday and the engine just dies. no bang just felt like it ran out of fuel. Got her back to the workshop and had a good look throw. cant find any ting wrong. then she didnt wana start. We gave her a tow down down the road. wow she started. but loads and loads of white smoke. runs really bad upto 2000rpm. with a knock every now and again. but once over 2500 rpm she runs a bit better with no nock and no whitr smoke.

Any one have any ideas.

Sounds like you've dropped a valve or the injector pump is knackered I'd go for the valve.

Ive taken the rocker cover of and every thing seems fine there. Do i need to take the head off.

Is there a pool of anything appeared underneath?

No i cant seem to find any. there is a little bit of oil on the exhaust down pipe

have you checked the timing belt, white smoke not only indicates water in engine, and you would know because of loss off water, but timing issues.

If you have yer r cover off set it up and see.
