The Britpart question........ Britpart don't manufacture anything, they are a wholesaler. They buy in from suppliers, OEM, Genuine and Pattern parts and then put them in blue boxes. This is why the perceived quality of their parts is seemingly so variable, it all depends by who and where the part was made and the specifications it was manufactured to.

In my case I am quite happy to use Britpart but for anything remotely stressed or important I would always specify the "G" (genuine) suffix parts. For bits of trim and none critical parts I save some cash and buy their pattern parts. I am fortunate that my local independent who supplies parts from a number of sources including Land Rover and Britpart are pretty good with advice on the best supplier for any application. If he says Britppart are fine or stick with Land Rover I generally go with what he says.

Me again..

Never did get around to buying the LHV100150G Idler pulley, just ordering it now. But I see Paddocks have two parts listed under the same part number, and different prices. Both are Britpart with the G (genuine) being cheaper. Confusing!! But as waldershelf says, if they buy in from various manufacturers this may explain it? I'll play safe and get the genuine one I think...

None genuine..

I see the bottom one has a G at the end of the part number on the box so it's probably the better one.
