Hi all,
After adjust the valve clearances on the 110, there's still a knock soming from the engine. I took it to my local garage to make sure I'd done them right (first time I'd done them) and he was happy that they're fine. He reckons the knock is something more internal to the engine and suggests I take it to someone who knows a bit more about LR engines. I've got a horrible feeling this is going to be expensive. Anyway, anyone know of anywhere local to Hemel Hempstead that would do a good job/be not too expensive?

Yes, well I think so. I've only had it since december and the valve clearances have needed doing since I got it so I assume so, it's hard to tell.

Can you get a video letting us hear the knocking?

Post it on You tube and link the vid to here.

Cheers

Mine also has a knock, never have managed to work out exactly where it comes from, one of these days I will have a search.
You hear it most when I move the camera at 7 seconds.

Cheers

it

sounds more tappetty speed wise

Yeah, was one of the things I did check when I first noticed it, all were good, all with 0.2mm clearance, could not see anything loose or suspect. One of these days I will get it warm and get the stephoscope on it.

Cheers

the brass follower can stick

OK, thanks, I will do a search for that when it is warm and see what I find. Although I assume it is a head off job, so It may wait until it is needed if it is something I can live with. Assuming it will not cause a major issue???

Cheers
