Started this thread as although I've done a bit of research on the internet I cant seem to find much,
so I was wondering if anyone on here had bought an alloy radiator or known anyone who has had one fitted, and if so what would their verdict be on them, in terms of the build quality and reliability of them?

Maybe if you paste in a link of the one that you've seen. I also have fitted the one the Mike has got just cos I needed one straight away.

Im sure if you mount it well enough and it fits nice on the std mounts it will be just fine.
I used to work for a guy that made bespoke alloy products and I wouldnt be to happy with any of them on my car as there always seemed to be a compromise somewhere.
Me personally I would stick with the std ones as mentioned by the other two posters above.

Very similar to the one I fitted to my Defender 300 TDI a couple of years ago - I had similar misgivings because the original, as you say, is substantially more robust. I got mine from a local supplier (Devon 4x4) and I've had no issues. Whilst you are at it, it might be an idea to get two new O rings for the oil cooler pipes.

Ive used this guy for a few different motors over the years, and a few mates (and me) have fitted them to our fenders, never had a problem.
