some of you might recall my previous thread begging for help with my brother's disco just over a week ago which turned out to be a rotten pipe on the sender unit. now in true landrover style hers back off the road again, but it doesn't sound like lack of fuel this time.

this time she's pouring blue/white smoke out the back when revved, when idling, theres just maybe a little more than normal. when revving to about 2.5-3k the revs will waver, drop and rise unpredictably. when at about 3,000 (I say 'about' as I cant see the rev counter at the same time as staring into the expansion tank) she blows bubbles quite vigorously, but as soon as the revs dip below that point the bubbles stop.

I don't know if its of any concern, but the bottom intercooler hose pressurises when revving, but the top one doesn't. there is a little more oil than I would expect in the top intercooler hose

theres not any water/engine oil contamination that I can see, and I didn't notice any water coming out of the eggsauce
the egr has been blanked, air/fuel filters changed and sedimentor cleaned out searching for the previous issue

head gasket?
valve stem seals?
turbo?

thanks,
JKx

is it loosing water pressurising coolant system ,head gasket rarely blows water into oil etc on tdis but can have oil run in cylinder ,remove top intercooler pipe see if that reduces smoke

I'll have to give that a go tomorrow now, because i cant get at it again tonight. what am I looking for with this?

cheers :)

smoke may be poor injector ,by removing inlet pipe youve ruled out turbo passing oil as long as you run it a min or two
