Top of the A-post, that's not an MoT failure. Looks good in black. My 300TDi 'uses' a bit of water too. There's a P shaped gasket behind the housing where the water pump sits. It can leak quite often and goes unnoticed. Look for some coolant staining behind the water pump, running down the block.

If left unchecked it's not uncommon for your engine to boil dry without any raise showing on the temperature gauge

Well happy day’s, she passed the mot with no advisory’s, I have read up a bit on them and I’ve now junked the sodden mat in the back, inner rear wheel arches are corroded along the edge, the drivers side would have a hole if I worried it with a screwdriver, Front and second row floor pans are sodden, so I’m thinking of cutting out the sponge material there as well.
What’s the best matting to put back in ?.
Also what’s the light in the picture, difflock ?,
It’s on all the time.

Stable matting is excellent for sound proofing and water resistance ...

yeah difflock light .... make sure it actually goes in and out cos they seize thru lack of use ...

Low/High ratio lever is a pig to move, can just about get low, but left to right is seized, so I’m unsure of where it’s at.
Horse matting, never thought of that
