where did you get it from and did they stamp your vin in the chassis, and do you got a reciept

Heres my interpretation of it all, having had a galv chassis fitted to my 300tdi...
A new chassis alone doent require you to notify DVLA, assuming its brand new and your old chassis has been destroyed and its a straight like for like replacement.
However, if you are also replacing certain major components such as axles etc then it works on a point system and you could fall foul.
Or I could be wrong?

No, you're dead right. If all you're doing is replacing a part with an identical one then there's no need to talk to DVLA. However you might want to take photographs of the work and the number on the old chassis and a photograph of, or a receipt for, the old chassis being scrapped. A bit over the top I know but . . . . .
Had mine replaced in the summer. To be careful, I checked by reading all the advice I could. In the end, I made sure I had a receipt, and the original (rather rusty) front leg cut off the old chassis.
I'm sure I will get fed up tripping over it in my garage eventually, but until then I believe I have the proof that it's the same.
I did try telling my insurer (as in my head it's more valuable / attractive to scumbags) and they weren't interested. they said they classify it as a like for like replacement part.

I got mine 'Richards Chassis' and I asked them for some advise about this, This is there reply;
Technically Land Rover list the chassis as a "spare part" so you can fit a
new one to your vehicle as a "part" without a series number stamped into it.
As long as there is proof of purchase of a new chassis and proof that the
original chassis has been destroyed (photographic or physical i.e. the leg
with the chassis number in) then you can put it through an mot without
worry.
