info is on the Ashcroft site, and I'm sure the man himself will speak to you. Just be careful is all, because if you do it wrong, the oil pump drive is about £80 ish IIRC...

Hi I’m wondering how did you get on with your Automatic conversion? Is it better to drive now or it was better with Manual. I’m thinking to get the conversion on mine. Thanks

Still loving it although I rarely get to use the LR nowadays (801-miles last year) but I still maintain it was one of the best things I have ever done to the LR. :D

Followed up with a new chassis 3-years ago (wasn't necessary as original chassis was in fine condition but it was "something to do" and futureproofed the vehicle). Below are a couple of photos of the engine & transmission being swung across from one chassis to the other. No need to split them as the hoist was more than capable.

Just in case anyone is interested, the LR is being sold later this year (shame after 24-years of ownership but things change) so if anyone is after a mechanically excellent, very presentable 300TDi auto 90 on galv chassis watch out as it will be in the For Sale section in due course.

Thanks for your reply, my Defender 90 has 300tdi conversion with LT77 by previous owner. Chassis is very solid had no welding or patches but rear crossmember on its way. Engine starts and runs very smooth. If you would like to swap chassis including everything then let me know the cost. You are welcome to check or inspect my Landy.
Thanks
