I bought galv for mine, this is left over. Still well worth repairing but I wanted a quick swap so Landy wasn't off the road for long. So no registration is still on my Landrover and will not be for sale.
They would have a job, to claim the registration they would first have to have a complete vehicle for someone to inspect, then they wouldn't have a clue about any vehicle history so their argument against mine wouldn't stand a chance... But if someone was delusional enough to think it was worth it then arguably possible.
It has to have V5/I.D to be able to legally sell it I believe so it should have it I would imagine!
Only way it can be sold without is if it's an unmarked/non stamped chassis (like a Marshal/Richards Galvy one).
300tdi 110 chassis. Needs new rear crossmember with extensions and an outrigger. Main chassis rails are fine and while front half is mint due to land rover self lubricating over the years.
Near Dorchester, Dorset.
You don't half spout some ****e. Perhaps a link to the Law that he's breaking would be useful. But until then your just talking ****e.
I'm interested as my chassis is fooked... Just need a couple of pics to see condition of it, Would hate to borrow a trailer and drive down from Glos, to collect it. Only to find out it's worst than the one on mine.
i'm not sure so had a google.
it doesn't seem to be illegal, but if you reuse an old chassis then it looks like you need to be on a q plate.
how they can tell when the dumb irons rust off and need welding is beyond me though

You is correct. NO law against using a 2nd hand chassis, whatsoever. As long as you inform them. Nowadays you tend to get an age related plate anyway as they're trying to do away with Q plates.
I may be wrong but I don't think they stamped the chassis on 300's I've never seen one Mine is on a plate attached to the dash on N/S visible thru screen. and on vin plate on the brake servo mount..
My 300 is stamped on the O/Side front chassis leg. As for changing a chassis and needing to have it re registered with a Q plate, as far as i remeber, for a vehicle to be put on a q plate, there is certain percentage of parts that need to be from another vehicle. If only the chassis is changed, then i dont think there is anything to worry about.
Info can be found on this if you google SVA regs.
