Hi i want to rebuild a 300tdi that ive managed to get cheap and i was wondering if a variable vane turbo is worth the money and time and if so what sort of power and torque figures would you get from the upgrade. cheers jon

Look at the 2.8TGV engine specs, allowing for it being 0.3 of a litre bigger in capacity you might be able to fathom some sort of understanding as to what the turbo is doing.

Have a look at Allisport website, they sell VVT turbos for 200 & 300 tdi
Thinking of one myself

There was a guy on lr4x4 who installed a vgt on his defender for about a third of the price of the allisport one. Can't remember what it was off though. ..

IRB do a VGT but not sure on cost IRB Developments
