While unscrewing the high pressure side of the PAS pump in order to have a new pipe made-up for my recent TD to 300tdi conversion, I managed to unscrew the larger 22mm reducer rather than the actual 14mm pipe-end. This worked, but as the pump is in-situ on the engine, I didn't notice a machined part which seems like a pressure relief valve in the pump until it dropped on the floor.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem obvious which way the valve goes back into the pump; it looks like it could go either way. I've not been able to find any references to tell me which way it should go in , and I'd like to get it right first time. I'll try and attach some photos of the valve (assuming that's what it is)to this post.
Does anybody have knowledge of which way up this should go?
Thanks
