Except that diesels don't have a CAT!! They have a particulate filter and that's worth about £10 2nd hand.

Yup, my 'cats' fetched £60 each from EMR - both removed from the 300tdi Disco's I own(ed).

daft
i aint got a clue if its a cat or PF
all i know is when i removed it i had the de-cat pipe to replace it lol

Call 'em what you will. Cats/Particle filters/Mars Bars/p*ss flaps.

I took mine to EMR and walked away with £124.

For compression-ignition (i.e., diesel engines), the most commonly used catalytic converter is the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC). This catalyst uses O2 (oxygen) in the exhaust gas stream to convert CO (carbon monoxide) to CO2 (carbon dioxide) and HC (hydrocarbons) to H2O (water) and CO2.

looks like a cat to me...but what the fook do I know
