its running a edc fuel pump these can and do go wrong and cost a fortune to fix. To replace it you need to fit a ve fule injector pump and four injectors

Cheers for that.
I assume if I fit the ve pump I will loose the extra bhp. AsI use this fir towing I need to think it out.

If your EDC system works why on earth would you want to change it ? Its a great set up when working properly . And are you sure you have a 76 vehicle ?:D

althou the edc system is good i believe that the wired injector is as rare as hens teeth and i think land rover have stopped making it now. If i'm wrong on one or both counts then i will slap myself around the head with a halfshaft. don't know how much the edc system made when it left the factory but the ve made 111bhp with 190 torque when it left the factory

tis your motor so i would say its your choice as to wether it stays or goes matey. never had a edc system on either of my 300's so can't really say which would be the best.

Cheers for the info, given me some thing to think about.
With my recent luck I will probably have to change it coz its broke

I am planning on replacing my edc pump with a manual one and tweeking it for more power.

I have been looking at pumps on e bay and some are saying that the pump is a "newer type" 300tdi pump?

can anyone throw any light on the pump i need to get

Cheers

anyone?^^

need to get this done as i have just been stranded outside a customers house for half an hour as the immobiliser would not shut off.

Cheers,

Should i be looking for one from an auto (none edc) ?

seen one on ebay and it says it has the attachment for the kick down cable, do i need this or do i already have this plate on my edc pump?

linkage /bracket is not on a edc pump, if you can get one from non edc auto so much the better otherwise you can fairly easily make something up

thats interesting as i have a plate just above my edc pump that has 2 cables attached to it, one goes to the accelerator pedel and the other looks like it goes down to the gearbox,

i will try and get a pic.

If you need a new one for the EDC, the part number is ERR3348. Google has those coming in at about £150.

The injectors in 300TDi's are a standard Bosch unit. What might be cheaper is finding a Bosch diesel specialist and see if he can refurb the injector.

Cheers!

Indeed , the injector refurb is a much better option ....places will often test for free before doing the work , or telling you if they are able to do the necessary

You are already getting the extra 20bhp from using the EDC system - wouldnt it be better to get the system working properly instead ? I know thats an unfashionable opinion , even with some Bosch specialists but I would have thought cheaper than replacing the whole lot . EDC can be a pain in the arse but all the relevent info is on here and when its right its very good .
