Hi everyone I have a problem with my gearbox on my 90 300tdi.

She struggles to select a gear especially when changing down the only way you can get a gear is double the clutch and wait while doing it, going up through the gears is much much easier but at half the speed she use to change.

I had a new clutch fitted recently so I know the clutch is good, I had a gearbox full of nothing quite a few times and I can't risk driving her until I can get sorted, I think the only option I have is a new gearbox this after an expensive clutch is not good so any suggestions are welcome.

Yes I have changed all the fluids gearbox etc just incase it was that but to no avail.

Hope you can help......................

Clutch master cylinder rod adjustment may be out for new clutch,re mick's post above.

I had exactly this problem. Turned out whilst putting the engine back in I'd bent the bush in the clutch plate which damaged the gearbox input shaft. New clutch, new gearbox sorted it.

Mick the builder, yes she was ok before clutch started going, clutch was standard Landrover, no leaks had her up on ramp Friday and changed all oils just in case.

Always happens when you don't need it.
