Hello all, I'm a complete mechanical novice considering having a go at replacing the centre section of the exhaust on my 300 tdi 90. Watched a few videos online, but not entirely clear on whether or not I need any gaskets or sealant to do it it, along with the section itself? Considering ordering the relevant part from bearmach, is there an advantage in looking anywhere else, anything partially long lasting that wont break the bank? Many thanks in advance...

Well done you as a novice changing your exhaust. Really, it's not at all difficult...just don't clonk your head when you drop the exhaust section. Take a look here at the parts needed...

There are no gaskets needed, only Holts exhaust sealer and be sure to lubricate the bolt threads before tightening up. For an alternative supplier have a look at GT Exhausts as they have correctly built/well priced Land Rover units, they sell on eBay

That's great thanks very much for the response, much appreciated. I presume I should seal at both ends, and lubricate threads with copper grease?
Well done, go for it. It's an easy job to do although getting the old exhaust apart/off can be a challenge if everything has rusted together and you are laid underneath on your drive.
I've never used any sealant, just a small dab of copper grease on the threads for assembly.
I'd second @v8250 's recommendation for GT Exhaust on eBay. Bearmach have gone down the pan of late, their stuff now makes Britpart look good.
