I've just changed the belt on my 1997 Disco. Working singlehandedly it took me 10 hours. This job requires patience, douple/triple checking and unless you have a photographic memory, marking everything. I made my own engine locking tool, out of a section of 2 inch hollow square steel with short lengths of 3/8 id pipe welded to the four corners to correspond with the four threaded holes in the crankshaft pulley, and addind a 24 inch handle. The crankshaft pulley bolt is torqued high and locktited, requiring some extra leverage to get it loose. I had access to a 5:1 Torque Multiplier and was able to loosened and final -tightened this bolt using a 32 mm combination spanner via the Torque Multiplier.
