i have a 88 series 3 1972 which is sittng on 4 16" modular wheels and 205 /16 marshal AT tyres which are like brand new . i want to put the 88 back on the original steel riveted rims which i have aquired but can anyone tell me if these tyres will fit the 16" original rims or will i have to buy new tyres etc or can i fit tubes to these tyres etc etc thanks ps is the original colour of the wheels called `limestone` , the body colour is pastel green i think

size wise they should be okay, but tubeless tyres have ribs on the inside which tend to rub away at the tube causing constant punctures, also your insurance may have an issue over tubeless tyres on tubed rims, why not fit defender 90 steel rims which look the same but are for tubeless tyres

I didnt know that. all 5 of my tyres are tubeless with tubes in them

In that case are you saying rims that have rivets are only for tyres fitted with tubes ? Do you know the reason for this ?

rivets what rivets, pictures. some tyres are suitable for both, but it says on the tyre if they are

i have 2 sets of 16" rims ,on one set in the inside rim they are welded seems on the other set they have 3 rivets per section which hold the wheels together , i assume the riveted rims are older and they dont hold air so tubes are needed ? am i wrong ?
