I've bought one and just looking around on eBay etc most of the adverts say "rare 3 door"
I was just wondering just how rare?
I mean we've got a car that there were only ever 200 made so I would say that was rare but if there are like thousands and thousands of them that's not that rare.

There's less of them about than 5 door models but by no means rare.

I preferred the 3 door. Looks better in my opinion and there's no need to cut doors for fitting arch extensions

Access to rear isn't great though, the doors are the same size as the 5 doors and the seat tilt mechanism is abit primitive compared to a modern 3 door hatchback.

Rare = unpopular. P38s are often advertised as a "rare manual". No one wants them!:D

Iv got a 3 door. I love it :D looks load better than 5 and like you say, not many people hve them

+1 for preferring the 3 door. quote a few people use them for bobtailing as its easier, I would love a red v8 3 door mmmmmmmmmm

My first Disco was a 3 door, basic spec, no sunroof so no leaks. It was bullet proof!

No sunroof does not mean no leaks.. Mine was leaking everywhere until i sorted it, but its still coming in at the drivers footwell. Doorseal i think.

I have a 3 door only bought at vintage sale because i new the owner and it had been used
but not abused . Had to box section the sills and a few other bits . basic car but good and
reliable . low miles . just been through a flood localy 20" . no electronics to worry about .

love my J plated 3 door diesel,
its just me,
a key,
and a diesel engine.

still in shiney factory black with the silver/grey side vynals.
yes I done the "some" bits on the floors/inner wings/body to chassis mounts/behind the headlights/bits on the bulkhead/repaired the rear crossmember/repaired the sills also.
yes it has the blight of a few corrosion bubbles coming through on the front edge of passenger door and some on the rear arches, oh its got the same next to the rear number plate, but now its solid for qite a few years to come.

Ironically, I saw its twin parked on the seafront here yesterday ;)
unusall being black plus factory vynal on it and not been fecked about with.
