Would the 3 amigos light up if the vcu and props removed?the vcu is being removed off a freelander with 59000 miles on it but can't afford the repair at moment.......

Had it plugged in ,said it was near side front wheel sensor ,replaced the sensor made no difference ........

are ur rear brake lights working, if u do a search there's a list about the brake pedal switch falling

If the codes coming out say the near side wheel sensor is the problem - then it will be related to that. It will either be the senor you installed was faulty, not installed correctly, the reluctor ring (on the end of the driveshaf?) is broken (or missing) or the wiring to the sensor is at fault.

I believe if you have the wheel off you may be able to see or feel the reluctor ring down the hole the sensor fits into. Turning the hub you can check all round it.

I believe you should also be able to swap the sensors left to right and see if the code changes.

Interestingly, when I had my codes read recently it was the modulator that had gone - again! I had this done at the main Landie spares place in Chch and they said that they have never seen a Freelander sensor fail - they've had the sensors sitting on the shelf gathering dust for years!

If its 2005 you can rule out reculator rings as the senders use the wheel bearing on later cars. Check that you break lights come on

My problem with the three amigos is that they only come on on ignition when the oil can lamp indicator doesn't light up. And they immediately go away when I restart the engine? Its driving me up the wall this one as I have replaced the brake light switch already, and the brake lights do work.
