owned it a couple months after changing from my 300 tdi d1,
New to the electrical gremlins owning a d2 can bribg, my 02 td5 just gave me the 3 amigos as I was driving, carried on driving and stoped few miles later, turned off ignition, restarted engine and went through normal lights on then off proceduree, drove home and the 3 amigos didn't come back on, does this mean the computer just had a hiccup and I don't have any problems?
 
Probably means that it's the first hiccup of many to come.
Even though there's no fault showing now, it might be worth putting a diagnostic device on it to see if there are any historic faults logged. It might give you an idea of what has caused it and what might be in store for you in the future.
 
it should be able to read the fault codes, i have a feeling that it willcome with SVS failure, that's the most common

As Sierra says ^^^^^ It usually starts as an intermittent fault as the circuit board in the ABS pump gradually disintegrates over time. You should have it plugged in though as a failing wheel sensor or hub will throw the Amigos right at you too..... :eek:
 
Svs? Shuttle valve? What is it and is it a pricey fix?

No.It's a really cheap fix if you do it yourself. Lot's of instructions out there on how to do it. It might be on here somewhere or you can Google it. Land Rover quoted me 600 quid to do it. It ended up costing me 5 quid and an hour of my time to do it myself :D
 
Mine would come on and off periodically, and code reader said shuttle valve. I removed mounting nuts, lifted abs, removed the 3 Allen head bolts and removed the shuttle valve assy. The switches were dry,(not leaking from seals), so I cut off connector and soldered 2 wires to the wires from the switches and heat shrunk the connections. Ran the two wires down thru 2 existing holes in shuttle valve base and out the side and remounted the shuttle assy to the abs, and reinstalled abs mounting nuts. I attached one wire via posilock connector to the yellow/green wire and the other to the ground wire. It does not matter which wire goes to ground or to the yellow/green wire. Note: I pulled the brake lines from the plastic holders on the firewall in order to lift abs. Some put a block of wood under abs to make it easier to remove shuttle valve assy, the 3 Allen head screws air loctited in, so expect to use some force to get them off. I cleared the codes and the amigos have disappeared. If your shuttle valve is soaked with fluid, you may need to replace the shuttle assy and the seals on the valves themselves. Falconwerks in the U.S. Has the valve seals.
