Hi everyone,
Not a Landy owner, but using a 3.9 interim engine, taken from a wrecked Discovery, in an MG. The engine uses a Dizzy. It presumably had a remote amplifier, which I didn't get. The dizzy is a 35DM8 with two black wires and a two pin lug on the side. I have acquired an Intermotor 15210 amp.
Question. How to connect the amp to the dizzy. Does it matter which way round the wires are connected?

I am pretty sure it does yes, but not being a 3.9 owner I can't tell you!

Someone will be along :)

hi i have the same engine in my defender.......the small connection lug on the side of the dizzy is where the amp fits, then the 2 black wire go from the amp to the coil, 1 pos and 1 neg

Sorry Chris, that's not it. This is the offending object. Tried to upload a picture but can't do it. There is not a module mount on the body of the dizzy, only a bracket with a two pin, female "multi-plug" attached. As I said presumably this is the connection to a remotely mounted amp\module.

Sounds like later distributor on classic where the amp was remote mounted because of heat issues
