Hi all,

have a range rover classic 3.9 v8 , also have a 200tdi engine , want to convert to diesel,

does anyone know where I can get a adapter plate to mate 200tdi engine to v8 auto box ?,

also if the above is not possible I also have a 200tdi discovery gearbox i can use,

is it possible to to fit the borg warner transfer box from the range rover to the discovery 200tdi LT77 gearbox

many thanks

Hi,

I'm planning on doing the same conversion, although I have a manual Lt77 gearbox with my V8. I contacted Ashcroft, who were very helpful in telling me what I needed to do, replace bell housing and spigot bush. I have a Borg Warner transfer box on my Lt77 gearbox.

Have you decided if you need to replace the fuel pump?

Stick with the manual box and gear driven 230 transfer box.The low rpm torque of the TDI does not go well with the BW transfer box. Also the 200 engine will not be a good match for the v8 autobox.

as above

either go get disco/rrc diesel auto box and mate to 200tdi or use 200tdi manual (?) box you have
v8 auto box wont work well..wrong gear ratios, wrong valuve block etc..will drive but..
