has any one got any pix of where the coolant pipes on an lpg system go on a 1994 discovery 3.9 v8 , i know they go in to the heater lines , but at wot point ,,:confused:

Hi.
On all of mine i cut the pipes above the cylinder head and put the t peices there. Should mention that if you can get them get the metel t peices rather than plastic as they they go out of shape if your over zelous with the spanners. Also make sure the Vapouriser is not higher than the rest of the water system.

Cheers, Nick.

Second that on the plastic tees, or better still do away with them altogether....

Take the outlet from the engine valley heater pipe, straight to the vaporiser. Then the return from the vapouriser to the heater inlet, then the heater outlet to the water return pipe on the engine.

Done that on our 3.9 V8 Disco 2, works a treat, heater is fine and have done away with a lot of potential leakage points and clips.

Peter

PS: You'll find a variety of pipe sizes, the heater stubs are different size to the vapouriser and so on.

I like that plan, when i've had the back from the rebuilders i shall fit my kit that way...you say you have had no trouble?

Nick.

Hi chewy.I have a 94 3.9 with LPG if you want some photos I can send you some by E-mail tomorrow.Just click on my add in the for sale section as if your interested and I can send them to you.Mark.

I've done it the other way, as I was not sure whether it would reduce heater performance.
I removed the rubber swan neck between the front of the manifold and the back of the pump. Then I bought two Silicon pipes with hockey stick bends on the end.
Fit the manifold one to the vaporizer inlet and the pump to ther vaporizer outlet.
No Tee pieces at all !

ive robbed a metal section from a ford transit heater/water system. it has two unequal sized branches. if you put em in the right way round(takes a bit of fiddling) the branches go in roughly the direction of eas pump and vally stub, the other end goes to heater side. no leaks, good unrestricted water flow and the vap is warm as soon as the needle lifts on temp guage!

y piece is better than t's for flow, return doesnt matter, just t it into heater return.

the pipes off the transit also have a bleed screw, you wont believe how easy this makes filling the system!!!
