im having trouble with my dads disco its a 3.9 on a t plate and its losing the feed to the starter . if you add your own feed to the starter she fires up . i can run a new wire to the starter from the ignition switch but could it just be a relay or module please help i dont like electrical probs at the best of times thanks in advance russ
 
Ours is the same, it sometimes needs half a second while the system decides to go for a start-up, and the motor has been reconditioned.

See the picture below, the BCU unit controls the feed to the starter relay earth, so a duff earth or some other issue with the BCU will inhibit the starter motor.

The feed for the unit comes from F23 (Disco 2) the earth for the starter relay comes through the BCU.
