why have you got two water temp guages bud? with the std one that makes 3 :D

was the old mans idea, got 1 for the engine 1 for the rad as its now at the back.. he brought them for me as a bribe to get the v8 out of his garage! :tea:
Ill be swimming in gages soon! :D

Yeah just make sure that pump works before spinning the motor, might not work cos the filter head is packed too.

I found a 12mm socket fits nicely over the pump drive iirc :)

Shame I disnt try that 1st... ive made a tool from a bit of brass bar and put a slot in the end to fit. :(

So got the engine in today after 2 hours of faffing about trying to get the input shaft in the engine... gave up and waited until my old man came back as he has done it a couple times. We checked the clutch, all was good.
I think the issue was getting the engine lined up good, ended up pulling together with some threaded bar (a long bolt basically) was the last 10mm that was the bastard! Still took an hour n half more.
Got a few bolts done up and engine sitting on the mounts.

that was for cam, I decided no one really knew apart from the people who were making the cam (in some cases) and they were trying to sell there own products, so I did a **** load of research and decided my self. its on its way from aus now

ahh right, how about locust builds ?

I got some info from there, they seem to build a lot of V8's from scratch to put into kit cars

cams ordered bud, in fact everything is ordered apart from water pump and arp stud kit as they are tryna work out what ones I need, that was about half a day of vernier measuring I can tell you lol
