Hi all!!!
I have a 3.5 v8 rover engine, with SU carbs in my L/R running on lpg only!!
Runs as sweet as from startup and idling, but, i take it 5 miles down the road it gets up to temp and runs like i got a blocked exhaust, no power!! not sure wether its over/under fuelling or what!!!????
can any 1 help???PPPPLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEASE..............

does it have petrol setup btw?

always best to get it running on petrol first and then THROW THE LPG IN THE BIN, urm, i mean then try to get it working on lpg...! :D

Cheers for reply
Doesn't have a choke, runs ok at idle cold and hot, but won't run when you drive it when hot!!!
Has no petrol set up at all

I mean it all sounds like a mixture problem related to heat. I assume the only mixture adjustment is the jets? But then how does it rich up when cold? :(

Completely beyond my knowledge!! I have a mixer on vapouriser and a mixer on LPG pipes that's all! Can't see how it runs fine cold but not when hot cause it still getting same amount of gas!! Doing away with air box and putting some k&n filters on carb see if I can get a better flow of air!!
Dint know if any1 had similar prob!

If air box is clear and has a good filter in it then do not fit K&N open cones as they are simply sucking in hot air! Air box fitted with cold air feed from front grill is the ultimate solution!!

I may be talking rubbish but if SU's have diaphragms in the top then I would suggest taking the tops off the carbs and checking the rubber isn't perished. If the diaphragm is damaged then the needle doesn't rise properly (if at all) meaning the engine doesn't get enough fuel or air to run properly. Also check your ignition timing.
