Hi all...
First time posting here.
Does anyone know the diameter, and the thread size of the sump nut on a Rover 3.5 V8, and / or where I can purchase a replacement. I've got a copper one with a 21mm socket size in there at the moment, but its leaking about 5 drops of oil a day and I think the thread is buggered. I've only just changed the oil, so I'd prefer not to empty it just to check the size of the nut. Tried torquing it up. Even used a piece of roll cage on the end of the wrench to get some leverage on the damn thing. But I don't want to mess up the thread on the sump itself.

Thanks in advance
Brad

dont know the size but the problem of the leak would be from the copper washer if this wasnt replace with a new 1 when you changed the oil.

yep, land rover bulkheads, thats the one.

sold me 3 lovely copper crush washers for £1.10 extra when i bought a oil pressure sensor.

nice chap :D

Cheers guys, been really helpful.
I've managed to secure some washers, so I will change the oil, the filter and the sump plug on my series 1 at the weekend. It doesn't have a washer on it at the moment... Its a copper plug, so I'd imagine it never had one

Thanks again

Brad
