14 bolt heads and tin gasket and 10 bolt heads with composite gaskets
Both have the same cc combustion size when clamped to the same block
As I have said before plenty of people on forums say that 3.9 and bigger engines have issues my own classic is on its original engine with 127,000 miles never had a gasket fail or a slipped liner and why is that?
Simple I have removed the lambdas thus eliminating the lean running at cruising speed
And v8 big capacity without lambdas is a robust engine with little chance of failure
 
are you 100% sure about the lambdas ive seen plenty without crack including one of my own ,new rad helped next though
 
also stu yours has been rebuilt hasnt it? so if it hadnt it may well have had hgf by now but you replaced them for the rebuild so it didnt have a chance to?
 
Up till I did the rebuild which was at 71,000 miles with full dealer and specalist history I was the first to strip it and I have not touched it since do that equates to 50,000 miles with no issues which is tuned and working harder than a stankard engine and fett you have seen how I drive it! If there was a issue it would have shown by now.
I have not come across with an engine issue on a 3.9 non cat engine all the ones I have found have been at models
 
mine was non cat and the head gaskets were pretty shot when I sold it, it could have been worse like a liner issue but I never stripped it so I dont know
