Hi everyone hope you all had a good Xmas,, I bought my l322 with suspension faults, at the time didn’t bother me as car still worked fine on suspension when driving/ getting out the car etc however after owning it a year would like to be able to manually select suspension height etc,,
After doing diagnostics I have found the front left height sensor to have virtually no voltage however still reads height, ordered replacement!

Diagnostics also showed faults as follows,,
Can bus fault 32

64 articulation validity fault

Air suspension system can error

Front left height sensor fault

Steering angle sensor fault during balancing operation

Steering angle sensor fault during normal operation

Canbus fault-no asc1 received from abs ecu

68-Steering angle sensor ecu internal fault

5a temporary system deactivation

where do i even start with this lot lads? Isit possible this is all due to the front left height sensor??
No faults clear however car suspension works fine apart from not being able to manually select height!
tried recalibration suspension and also re learning sas along with a. Few other functions but no luck.
 
Well all that lot are interlinked so guess you could start with sensor, out of interest got any faults in instrument cluster, light check module and body control cos suspension fault normally pops up in them as well and unless you clear fault codes in there as well suspension wont play games.
 
No need to search section is cluttered with them, surprised anyone can get help as not many read page 3 of the tech section.

Like your avatar at that angle it looks almost P38ish.
Start with the sensor you are on the right track, then clear the codes and see what comes up. You may get problems connecting with canbus error check the associated fuses and connector pins/damp if you do

It’s funny you say that I also found these faults with when scanning instrument cluster,,

Bf-Instrument cluster pack checksum incorrect


F5-The canbus fault no asc1 fault again

8b-chime t3 fault

91-chime t2 fault
I have tried to clear these but asc1 fault came back,,

I have never noticed any actual problems with my instrument cluster however I guess like all it doesn’t mean there isn’t something wrong,,

My light check module always comes back with errors as I have led front bulbs installed and rear led number plate lights,, could this be causing me issues with my air suspension?? was looking into fitting some sort of resistors to hopefully stop error codes appearing and to stop led bulbs at front of car flashing half a dozen times when first started,, job for another day

Thankyou mate the previous owner being my dad had the car for a fair few years and when the air suspension started playing around he had it in and out of landers with various parts being installed, followed by a family member a mechanic who fitted a new sas but could never calibrate it using the autel box, because of his words various other faults,, now could this be right that it doesn’t want to code due to other faults or should it still code no matter what?

I’d look into those LED headlights - they need the proper harness for them or somesuch? can cause merry hell with your bcm if not done correctly.

Thankyou for you’re help @RangeRoller dt I’ll replace the sensors they come tommorow hopefully, as for the led bulbs hopefully I can fit some sort of reisstor on them as I have also led indicator bulbs which used to flash fast and also show up error code on dash so I fitted indicator ballast resistors from powerful uk and that fixed the fast flashing along with the error code that popped up,, hopefully it’s the same with the led bulb in headlights for main beam

I'd simply swop the bulbs for standards before modifying with extra things to possibly cause more issues. Go to the most obvious fault and rectify that one first. ;)

@Mark Piercy that is a very good point I’ll change all of the led bulbs causing issues to original for now until I get my suspension sorted them look at led again in future when all else is well,
I’ve never been bothered about not being able to manually do my air suspension up and down etc before but after having my gearbox fully rebuilt at nearly 3k I’ve decided to fix any other faults with car as rest of car is in mint condition including all body work with no rust or even scratches etc

First thing normally said is make sure your battery is good.
LEDs flashing will be the LCM doing a bulb test. It can be turned off with the right diagnostics but not sure which. Or you could buy a later LCM but as they store the backup mileage it would need re coding with the correct mileage. If you watch the rear lights you may see them flash every so often :D
P.S IMO a later LCM would still need the bulb test turning off as I don't think the L322 has an option for LED headlights.
P.P.S Don't forget the steering lock to lock after a battery disconnect (using the correct battery disconnect procedure) :D

Thanks for the reply mate,, have recently put a new Bosch s5 019 on mate however if car isn’t driven for about a week or so in the winter when I go to start it will barely start/not have enough power to so think there is a drain somewhere however in the summer can leave it a few weeks and be perfectly fine,,

I did not know that about the bulb check so I’ll have a look tonight on my diagnostics box and see if I have that option with my box!

move tried lock to lock mate no luck I think the steering angle sensor needs coding because it had a replacement one installed about a year ago but never been able to get it to talk to the car via Aurelio box but didn’t know if this was down to air suspension faults.

Too late now but lots recommend the MF31-1000 battery, It's the biggest you can fit.
Try pulling the FBH fuse 59 in th glovebox, that sorted my battery drain out.
