Hi :) Is it possible to get 2nd hand keys reprogrammed to the D2? Theres a few on ebay but I thought you need the original barcode and stuff, or is there a way to wipe the old data and put in new??
thanks!

Nah, that's not true!

You can, certainly with Nanocom, because I've done it (on a TD5 anyway)

The circuit board in the key has a shorter barcode on it, which Nanocom will take to allow you to program the key up.

With regard to your comment about wiping the old data, the key doesn't really have much other than its rolling code, and it's pin. What you actually do is program the car to accept that key, rather than program the key to unlock the car if that makes sense :)

but will that wipe the current code out? what I need is a second key as I only had one key with the car. the owner has it just cant find it since moving house and Ive had the car 6months now

The car has a number of slots (4 from memory, + 1 for the suspension plip).

When you go to code a key with nanocom you select the slot.

So, first you would test fob with Nanocom, which will tell you which slot your existing key is programmed to. Then you pick one of the other slots to program the new key into - I would suggest pick the other one that is already in use, as this will be the second key you never got when you bought your vehicle. This should stop anyone who might still have this key come round and nick your car ;-)
