I'm just curious. What are your experience with the 2012 2.2l version?
Noise improvements, engine characteristics, impressions .. Etc

.. And what are you comparing with?

Thx! Lars

I have one, a 110 SW, very happy with it, the new anti-stall feature does not seem to do anything special and it is happiest at about 60-65 on the highway and about 22 mpg overall, same as always. Solid as a mercedes the first month and then the creaks and groans start to come in as the bodywork loosens. AC seems a bit weak and with the black paint it will be a warm summer. Can't compare to the 2.4 as I never drove one, but for what this vehicle is about, I think the power of the 2.2 is sufficient.

Mixed reviews on the Defender2.net forum.

Seems to be underpowered for heavy towing from what I've read. And fuel economy is lower due to the extra emissions bull****.

Personally if I was forced to have a Tdci I'd have a 2.4, since there's so substitute for cubic capacity! ;)

Thank you - appreciate your input!

common problems are turbo hoses keep blowing off on em (can be as often as once every 2 weeks) and top hoses keep rubbing through on a metal bracket.
