Like shifty, mine is fantastic, goes like stink and leaves a TDI standing 
I also have an alive remap.
Ive never had a TDI but I've driven them and i find they are slow and take a while to wind up.
Either you guys have only driven dodgy TD5's or your TDI's have the pump wound up loads. I can't comment on the TDCI's though.
