Hi Guys and Girls
A quick question. Can you do the software part of the EGR Blanking through the OBD port or do you have to remove the ECU and Flash the memory?

You can often do the software updates though the com port. However you normally need a sophisticated programming tool to do it. Some years of vehicle can't be modified, so it's worth checking first.

I think the GAP Diagnostics IID BT tool can do the EGR software delete, but I don't know if it'll do it on the D4.

Hi

Ur D4 will have a DPF fitted so alas can’t blank the EGRS

but I’ll 100% confirm that for u

hi mate

From what I gather it looks like a software patch that’s added to the gap iid, am nearly 99% sure the D4 has a DPF fitted so can’t blank the egrs

have u got a F or G in ur vin number please , think it’s the 5th letter

or if u don’t mind providing just the first 8 plse I can tell u what u have

Contact the IID makers ie Gap and see what they have to say.

Thks for the vin, just checked and u don’t have a DPF , so u can blank ur egrs , software updates are done via the obd2 port

speak to this company ref a software patch or a local JLR near u

Hi All I e mailed Peter Bell at BAs remaps and he has informed me that you cannot blank EGR software via OBD port.

cheers for the heads up, must be something different then with the D4 , alas with the D3 it’s added to the gap iid and done via the obd2 port

so the D4 must be done via its ecu
