Hi all, this is my first post on the forum, so I hope this is the correct place for this.

Does anyone know where I can get a complete wiring loom for a 200TDi 90

The electrics are in a mess (even for a 1990 landy) I've searched the internet and phoned a few local places but no one has phoned back yet.

This is my first Landy, won't be my last either, so any help is appreciated.

it cant be THAT bad - dispite how hard you may think it is to sort it'll be a lot easier (and cheaper) to sort the exisitng lectrics rather than ripping out and putting a complete new loom in

I took it to an auto electrician because the lights didn't work that was sort of fixed, they now stay on permently so I've gotta use my battery kill switch when I turn the engine on.

Also when I indicate left it will blink fast and the rear indicator doesnt blink, instead the rear brake and reg plate light blink, and if I put my foot on the brake the indicator light will glow dimly.

I also need new switches too apparently.

Any idea how much a new loom would be anyway?
Cheers for your help.

get yourself a cheap multimeter and a copy of the wiring diagram and spend a morning fault finding

sounds like you have a bulb out on yer rear indicator and a bad earth

if yer not up to doing it yourself take it to another sparky and if he's any good he'll have it all sorted within an hour

dunno bout the new loom but it'll be hundreds - you dont need one

My brother said it will be a bad earth too, it's just getting him to take a look at it. Got another auto electrician lined up although the one I took it too has been good in the past.

how about getting the first one to do the job properly, i assume you paid him some dosh to mess up yer lectrics ?

Sorry I should have said it's going back. He didn't even put the dash back on.

how much did you pay him to mess yer lectrics up and to partially dismantle your vehicle ?

and who is he so people on ere will know NOT to use him

£70 Now it's just a case of finding the time to take it back.

I'd rather not name and shame just yet, until it's resolved.

It's not been a good time lately for good car mechanics a lot of places we have used for years have gone south.

cheapest low cost lecky diagnostic tool is a low watt bulb with flying leads on it - shows up live circuits, but dont take a lot of current.

yes - yu try doing that method to find the mute facility on a radio - and will need to buy a noo radio!

the best thing to do is to put a few extra earth staps from the gearbox/engine to the body and chassis-also make sure the main earth strap from battery to gearbox is ok and there should be one from the engine to chassis
