I've got a 19j turbodiesel in me 110 at the mo and there's nothing wrong with it but I've always had it in mind that I'd put a tdi out of a disco in it eventually. It's occured to me that V8 discos are very cheap so what does anyone think about putting an lpg V8 and if neccesary transmission out of a disco into a 110?? Anyone done it?? Any good reason why not to??

i went from a td to a tdi and have never looked back, wades happily and runs on veg oil at 56p a litre giving 28mpg. I can see LPG tax getting more and more so no contest in my opinion

V8 may be cheap but fuel costs will be far higher, half the mpg of a tdi so fuel costs are far higher than a tdi on veg oil, depends on how many miles you do compared with how much you want that V8 'growl' LPG garages still aren't that common and dont seem to be increasing, I know I had a V8 gassed bobtail and had to plan around fuel stops or buy petrol 'arghh'

Cheers Steve

we went from a 2.5 N/A to a 200 tdi discovery engine used to climb a hill in selston we were down to second gear after the 200tdi intall were now in top gear every time. we also cocked up by pullin the 200 out and spending a ton of money putting a 3.9 v8 auto on gas, after chewing the bodywork up for lpg fillers, moving of mounts for the box , spoiling the vehicle and having cracked liner problems we came to our senses and luckily saved our old 200 tdi which we put back in and nevver looked back.

this is what you want. 6.2ltr 379Cubic Inches of v8 diesel. 0 to 60 as fast if not faster than the 3.5v8 petrol, and still gets 27mpg

Redhand, I think this is what he wants!
Range Rover P38 6.2Lt V8 Turbo Diesel 1997 Very Special

Automatic, Leather, Reversing Sensor, Satnav, BluetoothItem number: 250217128613

I'll have what's next to it!
Why £40 postage costs - dint seem bad for a range rover, but tricky to get through the letterbox!

haha maybe it comes flatpacked! I bet it sounds nice. I seen one of those gmc v8's in a range rover classic, u feel the ground vibrate before you see or hear it! With a turbo on it must sound awesome!

tbh I'm quite happy with what I've got. Just thinking ahead to when I need to change the lump as it ain't worth the expense of rebuilding the 19j. I've had a 200tdi before and was well happy with it so will very probably go for one of them.

Hi Hughesy
Iv,e got a 1983 110 V8 gass conn,it starts on gas and it,s costing me the equivelant of getting 27mpg running on diesel.
But you must have a good conversion, and make sure you keep the ignition side of your V8 good.
Cheers Celtic
