i have a 200tdi which has decided too keep blowing oil dipstick out and getting different answers from garages some say head gasket and some rings and pistons anyone any ideas have lost no power or increase in water use

Head gasket between no.4 piston and an oilway. Compression gases are blowing into the oilway. and pressurising the sump.

could be either , poor injectors can burn hole down or through piston ,head gasket can cause similar as can non opening exhaust valve ,also leaking servo can pressurise engine

you can often hear it on the servo or remove vac pipe at pump and cap pump and run engine , compression test would show h/g or piston, watching valves with rocker cover off non opening valve
