i had a 200tdi with a nackered bottom end so changed it over for a second hand unit now the engine is changed it wont rev up will struggle to around 1500 then die down and cut out then start back up any ideas iv rigged a 2.0 bar lift pump from a different tank and its still the same so i changed pumps over for mine that had no issues still the same im seriously fecked off

I am sure the expert TDI guys will be along to help soon.
But first I would ask
1. Do you know the history of your “new” engine?
2. Did you just fit it, or use some of your old bits?
3. Did you do the work yourself? ( that way you know what was actually done)
4. When you say “cut out” do you mean it actually stops, then you start it again on the key?

I am assuming you still have your old lump it might have some bits you may need to sort this.
Good luck and am sure you will get loads of help, to get this sorted.

First, check the fuel pump to turbo pipe, small bore pipe that they use to communicate, then all air inlet pipes as they de-laminate although it's unlikely if it was ok before. Are the injectors your original or were they in the new engine?

Are the hoses connected from the turbo to IC? Did you put a new timing belt in before installing?
You say you changed the pump - do you mean the actual FIP? Is it timed correctly?

What about this?

have you fitted the injection pump banjo bolts the right way round ,the rear one has a pin hole and front big hole, and fuel piping is correct

yes checked both the turbo one and both bolts are correct made that mistake once before with a transporter lol
