i have just taken out the 19j engine (totaly f*cked) from my 1976 lightweight and was wondering will the engine mounts be the same for a 200tdi and any other advice would be a great help. :(

(have searched but cant get definative answer)

Hi

Read Glencoyne' upgrade, many other write ups available online too.
Disco200 engine turbo will require clocking to avoid hitting chassis,
Steve Parker makes exhaust sections or complete units if you can't weld up yourself.
Steve Parker bolt kit to secures flywheel housing to block stiffener (4 countersunk bolts).
Tap out 3 blank holes in bottom & fit studs to line up with Series Gearbox if thats what you've got.
Apparently series3 petrol engine mountings are best.
200TDI should sit straight on.
Battery tray requires modification to allow room for timing case.
Fit electric/thermo fan as less room inbetween engine & radiator.

Mingdiesel

I'm doing this myself on a S3 Lightweight to replace 2.25 Petrol.

Mingdiesel.

yeah i had an electric fan when i had the 19j in and i currently have a series 3 gear box i will up load some photos this weekend hopefully one more quick question will the bell housing from the 19j fit onto the 200tdi block ?

wasnt the light weight just an 88" chassis just a body change and a diet nee'ed?

thats what i thought as have worked on both cant see the diffrences apart from the body and electrics,
