Hi all my 200tdi is having some head light problems and I cant work I out hopefully someone can help. When I push the stork forward once side lights and very dim main lights come on. Pushed forward twice and its just side lights. Full beam wont come on pushing the indicator stork forward bit will holding it back. So no working main lights. I have tried fuses and checking connections on stork but no luck it all looks fine.

Birds are not good conductors of electrickery you could try feeding the stork with a high copper diet but I doubt it'll help much.

Try adding an additional earth from bulbs to see if it helps.

It's usually earth's but could be contacts in the stalk

I would have tried the higher copper diet but now I've removed the storks nest there's not much point. Regarding the stalk I'll try cleaning the contacts tomorrow.

Watch out for storks, they can deposit rug rats upon you that you then have to feed/home them for many years and they deplete your landy slush fund account!

As stated, it's likely to be an earth problem. I had the chioce with my disco of either cut the loom open and repair the earth wire or loop a short new wire from bulb to inner wing. The vehicle was a shed anyway so Guess which option I chose....

Check all the light bulbs as well - sounds like an either an earth causing a backfeeding fault or worn out main switch just like everyone has said.
