I recently noticed a drop or two of diesel when parked up. On investigation the fuel pipe had a small split on the bend just before the pump. I've done a bodge with some old pipe and jubilee clips but am looking for a proper fix. I'm thinking about a double ended tail connector but am unsure of the original pipe diameter and which fuel pipe to use to connect to the pump?

I'm guessing 8mm. Any links would be great.
 
Bit vague... Lift pump or FIP?
Plastic pipe or steel pipe split?
Put a piccy up?
I've replaced all my lines with clear nylon which can be joined with 8mm or 10 mm compression brass fittings.
 
On mine, 200tdi, the pipe is 10mm OD, 8mmID from filter to FIP.
I deleted my lift pump years ago for a 12v facet so I'm unsure if your pipe would be the same diameter but it will be either 10 or 8 OD and 2mm off those measurements for ID.
 
A bit dark, will try later this week. The pipe runs top to bottom in the shot. The small rubber pipe is my temporary fix.

I'll measure the outside.

I did the same as flossie and repiped mine with 10mm nylon air brake pipe and a Facet pump.
Its only a short run from tank to lift pump and if you are not sure just use some quality rubber hose ie Gates etc from ebay.
Trying to get old nylon fuel pipe to slip onto fittings and joiners is just a waste of time as will be hard and brittle and will fail again.

Bear in mind all rigid pipe (incl the black fuel lines) is normally quoted as od and flex pipe is quoted as id.
