Yep, sure have, will bring with me Saturday
Absolute gent - collecting 33amp cable and inline fuse holder on way home today, so should be good to go![]()
You might find 20 amp is right on the edge especially for start up, I went to 30 amp on mine to stop them blowing as the fan initially started up, been no trouble for the best part of 5 years now.
Interesting fact is the blue crimp on style terminals can only take 18 amp constant before things get to hot, we had big issues with cement tankers with 16 inch elec fans running non stop melting the fuse terminals, went to maxi fuses problem went away, extreme example I know.
know what u mean , going to use some 30 amp cable if i need to extend any of the wiring and 25amp fuses ,
got a spare small 8 x way spade fuse box, so that i can leave the loom alone
just got to get onto a suitable switched live that i'm able to get into without interrupting anything else
will test it after to see what amps it's pulling , got a clamp and multimeter to test it accurately, in order the install a suitable fuse and also to protect the cable
What I have always done when wiring extra crap in is to have minimal contact (geddit?) with the original electrics so in the event of a failure I can still get home.
Ive often thought mine needs doing with a 70 amp ign triggered relay feeding a bank of fuses/relays for all the extra bits and bobs, I have the parts just cant be arsed!
I made a loom for a Honda CB760f sohc after the thing caught light on me whilst riding it.
