Got I all (almost) back together today. Stumbled at the final hurdle though - the oil pipe from the block to the bottom of the turbo is absolutely refusing to screw back into the turbo - it just spins, occasionally feels like it might be catching a thread but doesn't. Any tips or tricks?
If not, I'm guessing I'm going to have to remove the turbo (complete with manifold - turbo to manifold nuts ain't budging. Exhaust feels pretty tight where it attaches as well so that should be fun getting that apart), undo the pipe from the block, fit it to the turbo as long as the threads are ok, and reattach the pipe to the block when it's all back in place.
It was all going so smoothly...
