Hi we bought a 200Tdi discovery engine to fit in our defender (which were normally aspirated) after two years we thought a 3.9 V8 would be a good idea so we got a range rover and fitted the engine in. we ran it and discovered there were a cracked liner! !!so engine rendered useless!!. luckily we saved our old faithfull 200Tdi, we fitted this back in. It ran just as before but it now idled a bit rough (but we had petrol in the tank for the V8 and drained it out) weve just done a rebuild with new rings, shells and a turbo but there was no change any ideas?

u get all the air out the fuel lines?

We suspect that it might be sucking in air but could this cause eratic idling as its fine and smooth when revved. as anyone had the same problem?

I know I'm digging up an age old topic here, but did you ever sort this out Camshaft?
