I use either Magnatec 10w/40 or Ambra Mastergold HSP Engine Oil 15w/40.

I used comma semi synthetic stuff the last time, wasnt expensive and seems ok, got it from my local lucas place, you got one up by the vosa station in kilmarnock dont ya?

eventually got 10w - 40 mineral. didny want to make the same mistake as i did with the transfer box when i put gl5 in it when it should have been gl4 .same as you buster had to drain the stuff out and renew

Tractor universal might be a little on the thin side for a Tdi... CharlesY recommends it for his TD5 disco though.

Ovoline do a Tractor engine oil 15/40 that's a couple of quid more expensive for a 20litre drum and is excellent stuff. Means you can double the frequency of oil changes and it's still cheaper than one oil change bought at Halfrauds.

I think I paid just under £30 for 20 litres of 'Turbo Gold' from Gliddons tratter place in Williton, Somerset. for anyone who is 'local' to it
