Decided before striking up the engine after not being started for a year that I'd do the timing belt. It's been on the to do list for a while, so I really do need to do it.

I got the tool thing for holding the crankshaft, but it wouldn't fit inside the pulley. Turns out the pulle comes off without taking the crankshaft bolt off.....so i took out the four bolts, and tried to get it off....it was stuck.

Got a pry bar to try and get it moving and damaged the pulley :(

Got it off in the end, but now it looks like I need a new pulley.

Can't see them on parts manual, but I THINK this will fit: ERR3093 - it's listed for aircon, but have seem some notes that suggest people fit it for having dual alternators. i've not got those yet, but could do at some point....plus they seem a little cheaper.

Anyone know for sure if ERR3093 will fit a 200tdi defender?

I still need to get crankshaft bolt undone...it seems to be stuck very tight :(

Land rover approved procedure for the main bolt is - disconnect power supply to fuel stop solenoid, put socket on crankshaft bolkt with bar resting on top of vehicle chassis, briefly turn the ignition key to turn the engine, which will undo the bolt.
