Took some pictures of the other side of the suspension mount, the front is OK I had I garage weld that a couple of years ago when I had the engine and gearbox repaired.

So that repair is still “good”, not the chassis as that was ****ed and needed welding.

We aren’t trying to be dicks with our advice, we are trying to save you money/hassle in the long run. Your chassis already has weld repairs, and here you are again needing more. What about next year when it needs more again??

Fine question :) - OP; upload some pictures and we can advise you ....

Absolutely :) - sadly, some of us have learnt the hard way

So true :( . OP:- here's a little story for ya..... SWMBO's D1 chassis has some issues from being parked in the sea by PO, who clearly didn't give a s**t :rolleyes: - corrosion so caused blocked the drain holes  ..... you can see where this is going, right?

I have properly repaired said chassis by removing a MUCH larger area than was obviously rotten, and examined the interior with an endoscope .... it has also been sandblasted on the outside ( and parts of the inside ), AND treated with proper, professional cavity wax too .....

However, long story short - the Sea is a nasty place for steel to have been put and I am chasing my tail here ... a new chassis will be necessary in the future. ..... Probably far sooner than I want to admit TBH   :( ....:mad::mad:.

A new chassis is needed here BUT if you don't have the money for it then make do and mend is the only way to go.
Sometimes the proper way is unobtainable.

Indeed. I am not disagreeing with you at all.... why do you think SWMBO's chassis got "repaired" ;) ...

Thing is, the OP has posted pictures of a chassis that has, IMHO, been terminal for some time .... and also been asked to upload further pictures so we can better advise ......

Here's a piccie of the OSR of SWMBO's chassis:-

just because it is on it's way out, hasn't stopped me looking after it....

OP:- I'm sorry if this seems harsh.

I would love buy a brand new chassis at the moment I can not afford over £2000. And I don't have the space. I have just built a shed/workshop so I can start working on problem as they come along.
