Help... I have no drive!...

accelerating across a junction, suddenly a low thud (no crunch) and loss of drive. Only doing around 30mph. Tried going through gears (even tried hi lo and diff lock) checked oil level (have had some leaks in recent months but all fixed now) all ok. Don't think any drive shafts have stripped (no mechanical noises), suspect box internals... Any theories, what's best option, Dump, strip or replace?

are you a 100% sure its going into difflock check condition of both t/box and gearbox oil

Diff lock light comes on when in and off when out... not used often but I know it did work... oil in box is relatively new due to recent leaks and top ups. all leaks fixed now. just doesn't fell like it's picking up inside the box. (transfer box was giving feedback when trying it just before she rolled to a stop)

sounds just like what mine did a couple of years back, turned out the transfer box was knackered.

if something broken in either it should show in oil,it could be many things from t/c ,drive plate to center diff

Remove cover on back of t box and look at the output shaft adapter and t gear.
They can suffer from the splines wearing away.

could be center diff and still get gear feel ,cogs are replaceable wooden teeth fitted to a cog wheel often seen in windmills etc

If shaft adapter gone... I would still get cog feedback from tranny when rolling, but no response from G box ... right?

however would g box still go through gears? 'cos it don't ... it's just like being in N.
