Curiouser and curiouser....the pics are referenced in the LZ-live update...but not showing - to me, at any rate - in the thread? weird!

Really weird.
They are in a LZ album, and I followed the instructions on how to insert pics in a post???:(
Done it before and it worked:confused:

That's a brilliant setup Rehgar. I notice you've gone along the route of keeping the filter box parallel with the engine, which I think looks better than having it mounted directly onto the wing (and therefore at a different angle to the engine). I'll put up a few pictures of what I end up doing later on in the week :)

Cheers

Cheers, it all looks tidier like that. As I sayed earlier, credit to Patman whos thread I got my insperation from:D.

By the way, trouble with getting the pics to show was 'cause the album was set to 'private'

last night I said I was going to send some pictures of my 200TDI 1993 defender original condition. It's a LHD but hope it helps. As somebody said the lower hose is for an air intake on the fender in some cases to install a raised air intake (snorkel), but you can drive with out it.

Rehgar.... that's just the way I'm going to mount mine, but slightly closer to the rad, as I want to keep my washer bottle where it is..

If its tidy you want....then go on...splash out and get a "proper" top rad hose! For under £7 - and two fewer joints to worry about, you know it makes sense!! :D

Ok, you noticed my top radiator hose, it should have been one peice but I trimed it 1/2 inch too short, then had to cut it and insert the extra bit to stop it coming off it's mounts.
I have now got a peice of stainless in there.

Thanks everyone for the pic's It really helps others see what can be done. Here's mine....

Hello,

does any body have a picture of a 200TDi air filter box please? Even better if it's in position under your bonnet! I've just sourced one on ebay and I'd like to see how they're mounted, and what they look like, so that I know I've got the proper 200 jobby.

Cheers

What's up with your Donaldson setup?

There's some very tidy setups in this thread, not meaning to hijack in anyway, but if there's anyone running a disco 300tdi engine on the original lt77 box, it be nice to see how you've gotten around the air box problem please :D
I bought a Donaldson box off eBay but it seem to cumbersome to slot in anywhere nicely. I have also got a disco 200 air box in the shed that maybe could be used??

I had the same problem fitting a standard air box. I bought an early defender air box but haven't got enough space to fit it. The Pipercross in-line filter doesn't have a drain but it has a washable foam filter and is really light so doesn't need much support.

The defender 200TDi radiator is in front of the normal SIII radiator position so it is really tight. Here is another side shot to show the clearance.

You got a link for that filter mate? Looks pretty cool, I might chuck my donaldson and fit that instead. How is it for watertightness?

Universal Air Intakes | Pipercross Air Filters

I Bought it from POTN.co.uk they were really fast delivering - ordered on net 4.30pm on doorstep next morning. I've seen them cheaper..

The filter is two part, clips together on the large outer ring - it probably needs a length of PVC tape around this joint to make sure it's water tight!

Probably costs less than £1 to make..... but it was less than fabricating a mounting for the old air box and buying filters etc.

What's up with your Donaldson setup?

Absolutely nothing, in fact, that old setup is serving someone else very well right now. I sold my 90 through Winter, I've got a 110 300tdi now. Someone dug this thread out of the dust - look at the dates on the posts, I created it in 2010!
