Hello All

Proud owner of 2008 L322 4.2 Supercharged.

Can anyone help me to source an electrical circuit diagram for this model.

For now I am just trying to understand how the cooling fan works. The clutch seems to be activated electronically via 5 wires. My research so far indicates that 3 of these wires are for a fan speed sensor (via a hall effect which transmits a signal to the engine ECU) and the other 2 are for a solenoid that actually activates (requests) the clutch solenoid via a signal from the engine ECU.

I am hopping to be able to identify the specific wires though based on the colors from the wiring/electrical circuit diagram.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have owned this vehicle for about 3 months now and these are some of the personal improvement which I have done so far:
  • Converted the suspension to coils
  • Converted the park brake actuation to a foot activated mechanical cable
  • Installed a touchscreen android audio head unit
  • Installed a touchscreen AC control panel
  • Installed a pushbutton starter switch
  • Installed headlight DRLs

indeed , also curious regarding the self levelling headlights , ie was it the suspension or headlight that done the self levelling

assume it would therefore fail an MOT if the function is no longer there

reading a while back I thought the headlight got signals from the air suspension., so as thats no longer fitted I wonder how they get round it in order it still complies with xenon headlights etc

As someone who runs a standard 4.2 I can’t understand why coils would be an improvement as the ride of my SC is decidedly firm with the factory 20” rims and gets lovely and street cruise when the summer 285x35R22’s go on.
Loving the upgrades to technology, obviously planning on keeping your L332.

may I ask plse does the FFRR have the dynamic anti roll bar system plse or is that just on the RRS

not 100% but think I read that after 2010 the FFRR had a redesign where the dynamic anti roll bar system wasn’t fitted anymore and then had electric sensors fitted on top of the air suspension struts , so on cornering or sharp turning it would rapidly increase the air and therefore reducing roll

hope that sort of makes sense

im running 17’s ( 235/70/17 ) on my D3 and likewise the ride is fantastic , really comes into its own so to speak when driving through country or b roads of how smooth and soaks up the bumps etc

also all the terrain response systems will be disabled and not being able to raise lower it ,

plus assume the towing will be different seeing with air it adjusts automatically for u

such a great shame to ulterly ruin an incredible vehicle

as a side note watched a video of a 5 x litre SC FFRR , Jesus wept it sounded gorgeous , oh well never know maybe one day I’ll own a FFRR as I think in life you’ve got to at least buy a petrol V8 FFRR , would be even better if they done a 5 litre NA

Might as well bin all the silly "driver aids", especially the leccy handbrake. Then when the seats & steering wheel are in the right position, unplug the fuses & relays. Also gum up the parking sensors & do it the old way.

He's converted the handbrake to mechanical:cool:
 
I think he wants the electronically controlled engine cooling fan info not the HEVAC fan.
He's binned so much of the standard stuff, he might just as well bin the over complicated engine cooling fan and fit an after market electric fan
I will have another look but this section is titled "Cooling Fan".
 
What a strange thing to do, air to coils, not like it’s uncomfortable on air, and if it goes wrong it’s not exactly mega money to repair, Maby couple of hundred for compressor or £300 a corner for a front strut etc.
 
Ed if you’re still watching, I’m totally with you on the LR electrical over engineering being replaced by more up to date clever tech that actually works so do please post any other projects as we can all benefit from your exploits. My rear washer jet conversion seems basic now by comparison. Don’t tack all the coil spring comments to heart, we’re all in this for our love of Range Rovers, original spec or conversion. Hope to see your fan tech fix posted here soon.

Yes I really need the diagram for the electronics on the radiator cooling fan which has a 5 wire connector.

I have already deduced that 3 of the wires are for a hall effect speed sensor and the other 2 wires are for the solenoid.

Would it be possible for you to share the entire electrical circuit diagram manual with me which covers the 2008 4.2 SC Range Rover?
