Forget that request, found where the sense wire is snapped, seems it runs under the box that houses the abs and brake pad wear sensor connectors and has a break in it. I guess the plastic will all have to come off again so I can solder a bit in.

Think it's the Halogen headlamps that have 6 wires for the headlight leveling.

A height sensor is fitted in each corner of the vehicle to monitor the ride height of the vehicle. The sensors are mounted
on the front and rear subframes, with a mechanical link to the suspension lower arms. There are six different types of
sensor fitted to Range Rover:
l LH front height sensor – All vehicles
l RH front height sensor – Halogen headlamps fitted
l RH front height sensor – Xenon headlamps fitted
l LH rear height sensor – All vehicles.
l RH rear height sensor – Halogen headlamps fitted
l RH rear height sensor – Xenon headlamps fitted.
NOTE: RH front and RH rear height sensors fitted to vehicles with Xenon headlamps have a white stripe across the
back face of the sensor housing for identification.

Hopefully fixing the break will fix it. It took me 18 months to find the breaks in my loom

Jesus, that looks like whole lot of fun, hopefully get the wire spliced today, I think I can pull it back into the engine bay to get access to it.

Thanks for the info on the sensors, I found the part number on the old one, LR put it on the top on the face you can't see whilst it is bolted to the car, well where else would they put it?

The plug is the same and has three pins only at 1,4 and 5 which matches RAVE. The part number goldrover gave (RQH100030) is a rear, this is front. I'm going to take a proper look at the car and compare the two and speak to the supplier.
My bad. I saw Mark's post and worked on the premise yours was also rear.

No problem Goldrover, if anyone stumbles on this looking for help I can confirm part taken off is RQH500431 and the part fitted is LR02026. The original LR sensor has 6 pins but the plug on my 06 only has the three wires shown in RAVE. The new sensor only has the corresponding 3 pins.

MOT this aft.......
